Developer Advocate (AI)

Location: San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule; standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Working from home on Wednesdays is generally available, while Fridays depend on the role and team.

Base salary: $182,000–$207,000 per year, plus potential equity, sales incentive pay where applicable, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and execute developer engagement strategies that increase adoption of Asana’s platform, APIs, and SDKs.
• Create technical content such as sample applications, code tutorials, technical blog posts, and API documentation.
• Engage developers through forums, conferences, workshops, events, and social channels.
• Represent developer needs and provide actionable feedback to Product Management, Engineering, and Design.
• Partner with Marketing, Business Development, and Solutions Engineering on integrations and growth.
• Mentor junior advocates and community members while improving developer advocacy practices.

Requirements

• Experience as a Developer Advocate, Developer Relations Engineer, or Senior Software Engineer with substantial experience building developer community programs.
• Hands-on experience building and consuming RESTful APIs, webhooks, and modern SDKs.
• Experience with JavaScript, Python, or Ruby.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.
• Experience defining success metrics, analyzing API usage data, and converting community feedback into product improvements.
• Curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, including productivity, collaboration, and decision-making applications.
