TL;DR
Project Engineer III - Protection (Power Systems/Protective Relays): Leading complex protection engineering projects involving conceptual and detailed design, proposals, execution, and customer support with an accent on electric power system protection, control, integration, and automation. Focus on supervising project teams, resolving customer concerns, ensuring deliverables meet scope and schedule, and developing protective relay applications, settings, and testing.
Location: San Luis Potosi, Mexico

What you will do
- Lead and participate in complex conceptual and detailed project design, execution, development, and support across multiple projects.
- Prepare and present proposals for SEL equipment, services, and systems.
- Lead project teams, resolve customer concerns, and support customer satisfaction.
- Ensure deliverables meet agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
- Mentor and develop professional staff and supervise as needed.
- Apply SEL values, operating principles, and World Class Manufacturing principles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- 8+ years of relevant application experience with electric power systems or industrial automation systems.
- Knowledge of power system protection and control, system integration, automation, communications, system studies, information and communication technology, and protective relay applications.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally at least 25% of the time.
- Ability to lead and supervise project teams, communicate effectively in writing and speech, learn new skills, and work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Satisfactory background check and negative drug test results.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer license or equivalent certification.
- Experience in electrical utilities, industrial plants, consulting engineering, or system integration.
- Project management experience and working knowledge of Vision or similar project-tracking software.
- Experience in protection, automation, design, studies, commissioning, security, networking, proposals, or project management.
- Experience with PSSE, ETAP, RTDS, IEC-61850, DNP, Modbus, SCADA, NERC/CIP, or NIST SP800 requirements.
