Director Software Engineering (DevOps)

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; office or hybrid environment. Occasional travel may be required. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Estimated starting salary: $192,613.86–$264,844.06 per year, subject to geographic differentials and other factors.

What you will do

• Define and communicate the long-term software development and DevOps vision, roadmap, and transformation strategy.
• Lead managers, developers, analysts, and DevOps professionals across the software development lifecycle.
• Align technology initiatives with business objectives while driving Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps maturity.
• Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, containerization, and cloud-based platforms.
• Establish coding, secure development, DevSecOps, compliance, and operational resilience practices.
• Manage software delivery and infrastructure risks while collaborating with IT, compliance, operations, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 14+ years of experience in software development, DevOps, or a related field, including progressive technical team leadership.
• Extensive software development and DevOps experience with deep knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud architecture.
• Experience managing large-scale, complex projects, including budgets and resource allocation.
• Strong leadership, communication, strategic thinking, change management, mentoring, and decision-making skills.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML integration in DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and observability tools.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, secure coding, DevSecOps, and compliance frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001.
• Knowledge of DORA metrics, CI/CD KPIs, and data-driven DevOps performance management.
• Background in aerospace, defense, intelligence, NASA, the U.S. Department of Defense, military, or commercial space.
