Senior Accountant II - Inventory Accounting (Automotive)

Location: Portland, Oregon, US. Hybrid schedule with 4 days per week in-office and 1 day remote. Applicants may work in or relocate to Portland; relocation assistance is not available.

Starting salary: $78,000–$100,000 USD annually, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Manage spare-parts inventory valuation, obsolescence, core deposits, incidental acquisition costs, and inventory aging.
• Support month-end close through general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, financial analysis, and reporting.
• Monitor material transfers, in-transit inventory, interface errors, and manufacturing inventory accounting processes.
• Partner with Aftermarket Controlling, business units, accounting management, reporting groups, and external auditors.
• Document and improve accounting processes, policies, systems, and controls using analytical tools.
• Support cross-functional projects, regulatory reporting, travel-related reconciliations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field; alternatively, an associate degree with 2 years of related experience or 6 years of relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting, audit, manufacturing accounting, inventory accounting, cost accounting, or financial reporting, including month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Professional experience with SAP and data analysis or reporting tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Alteryx.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States.
• Visa sponsorship is not available, and existing visa holders are not eligible.
• An attached resume is required.

Nice to have

• Advanced Excel skills, including VBA, pivot tables, Power Query, data transformation, charts, and graphs.
• MBA, CPA, CPA candidacy, or an internal audit accounting certification.
• Wholesale parts business experience and advanced use of Power BI, Tableau, WinShuttle, Alteryx, SQL, or AI tools.
• Experience driving standardization, continuous improvement, and business outcomes in a rapidly changing environment.
