Insurance Accounting Manager (Property And Casualty)

A recruiting firm partnering with an established organization on an insurance accounting leadership role.

What you will do

• Lead and support a small accounting team, review work, and manage deadlines.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, general ledger activity, and financial reporting.
• Manage statutory reporting and regulatory filings in line with insurance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Statutory Accounting Principles, SSAP guidance, and internal controls.
• Partner with actuarial, claims, underwriting, audit, and regulatory teams while improving accounting processes and automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including property and casualty insurance accounting.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, or reviewing accounting staff.
• Knowledge of statutory accounting and NAIC reporting requirements.
• Strong general ledger, reconciliation, financial reporting, and financial close experience.
• Advanced Excel, analytical, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• CPA certification or progress toward certification.
