Operations Manager - Medium Voltage

Location: Remote within the United States, preferably in the Northeast; nationwide project coverage and periodic field travel are required.

Salary: $111,000–$161,500 per year, plus benefits and possible performance incentives.

What you will do

• Build the Medium Voltage Operations & Maintenance Department from an initial three-person crew to a 21-person organization over five years.
• Develop SOPs, MOPs, JHAs, quality systems, and maintenance processes for medium-voltage work across solar PV and BESS assets.
• Lead the transition of preventative and corrective maintenance from third-party contractors to internal crews while maintaining service quality.
• Oversee nationwide scheduling, dispatch, crew travel, regional coverage, KPIs, work orders, inspections, and recommendations in AssetPlanner.
• Manage subcontractor performance and review technical deliverables such as relay tests, DGA results, infrared scans, and cable test reports.
• Own safety, inventory, training, budget, fleet, tooling, and 24/7 emergency corrective-maintenance operations.

Requirements

• Must be able to work remotely within the United States; residence in the Northeast is preferred for project coverage.
• Strong medium-voltage technical expertise and the ability to act as the internal subject matter expert and escalation point.
• Experience evaluating subcontractor scope, quality, responsiveness, testing results, and repair-versus-replace recommendations.
• Ability to establish safety and compliance programs aligned with OSHA, NFPA 70E, site requirements, PPE, and lockout/tagout practices.
• Ability to manage department staffing, budgets, inventory, fleet, training, KPIs, and nationwide operations.
• Availability to participate in an on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays when required.
