Senior Accountant II (Aerospace Manufacturing)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; primarily on-site with direct engagement on the shop floor

Salary: $96,000–$144,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Own day-to-day accounting for a complex manufacturing site, including inventory, manufacturing costs, labor, fixed assets, capital projects, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries, balance-sheet reconciliations, variance explanations, and monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
• Support standard costing, labor and machine rates, overhead absorption, bills of material, work centers, routings, and work-order reviews.
• Analyze purchase price, usage, efficiency, volume, scrap, and rework variances.
• Manage inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, physical inventories, fixed assets, and capital projects.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Corporate Accounting to resolve transaction issues, execute controls, support audits, and improve ERP and master-data processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline and 5+ years of accounting experience; manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and hands-on experience with journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with an ERP or financial-reporting system.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, primarily on-site environment.

Nice to have

• CPA or CMA certification, or meaningful progress toward one.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, industrial equipment, or another engineered-manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Infor LN, SAP, Oracle, or a comparable manufacturing ERP, including cycle counts, BOMs, work orders, or routings.
• Exposure to SOX-controlled or public-company environments and familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, automation, or AI for accounting processes.
