Location: Long Beach, California, United States; work in a U.S. office.

Base salary: $124,000–$155,000 USD annually. Total compensation including equity: $144,275–$190,675 USD annually.

What you will do

  • Serve as the primary avionics design engineering contact for business development, proposals, and mission concepts.
  • Develop operational concepts for Electron and Neutron missions, including classified HASTE and Electron missions.
  • Design and analyze electrical and RF systems for payload accommodations, vehicle integration, processing, and launch-site operations.
  • Design and document electrical schematics, harnesses, kits, custom vehicle interfaces, and detailed payload or deployer pinouts.
  • Work with customers and external stakeholders on mission-specific requirements and present proposed avionics solutions in design reviews.
  • Develop tools to automate proposal analysis and support Electron and Neutron system commissioning and calibration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or another technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience developing complete avionics or electrical system designs for orbital launch vehicles or missile systems.
  • Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
  • For U.S. office roles, eligibility under ITAR regulations is required: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylum status, or applicable government authorization.

Nice to have

  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Rapid conceptual design iteration experience.
  • Hands-on FPGA, ARM processor, development, and testing experience.
  • Experience taking products from concept through production, assessing requirements, and generating interface control documents.
  • Master’s or PhD in electrical engineering or aerospace engineering.
