Senior IT Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer (Azure)

Location: On-site in Ilmenau, Erfurt or Leipzig, Germany, especially during the first months

What you will do

• Lead the migration of selected virtual machines and services to Microsoft Azure.
• Design and maintain Azure infrastructure, including networking, identity, monitoring, backup, access controls, and cost management.
• Operate and secure Linux servers, virtual machines, Docker environments, and internal services.
• Administer Jira Cloud, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID, including permissions, workflows, MFA, RBAC, integrations, and automation.
• Maintain secure connectivity, DNS, certificates, VPNs, firewalls, reverse proxies, monitoring, and logging.
• Provide advanced technical support, document systems and recovery procedures, and coordinate with vendors.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, cloud engineering, or IT operations.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, cloud migrations, Azure VMs, networking, storage, monitoring, backup, Entra ID, RBAC, and security controls.
• Strong Linux administration experience and practical knowledge of virtualization, Docker, networking, DNS, TLS certificates, SSH, firewalls, and backup systems.
• Experience with Jira Cloud administration, API or webhook integrations, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and automation using Bash, PowerShell, Python, Terraform, Bicep, or Ansible.
• Degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent qualification, plus strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and change-management skills.
• Ability to work on-site at an office in Ilmenau, Erfurt, or Leipzig, especially during the first months; good English skills are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Keycloak, LDAP, MDM, endpoint management, GitLab, CI/CD, container orchestration, or internal developer platforms.
• Experience with SIEM, log collection, monitoring, alerting, Jira Service Management, or Confluence administration.
• ITIL, ISO 27001, GDPR, Azure, or Atlassian certifications.
