Senior DevOps Engineer (Quantum Computing)

Location: hirify.global Germany, Munich; hybrid setup with flexible hours.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain infrastructure for compute-heavy, job-driven quantum workloads across Kubernetes, cloud, and bare-metal environments.
• Own orchestration, CI/CD, observability, networking, and cloud architecture.
• Build autoscaling, redundancy, recovery, and graceful failure handling for variable and bursty workloads.
• Improve infrastructure security, monitoring, deployment, and incident-response practices.
• Use Terraform and other infrastructure-as-code tools to create scalable, maintainable infrastructure.
• Document technical decisions, mentor engineers, and contribute to infrastructure standards and reviews.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, SRE, platform engineering, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience, including setup, maintenance, scaling, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Strong Python and Bash scripting skills, including at least 2 years of practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience managing bare-metal machines in remote data centres, plus solid networking knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP and the ability to make, explain, and own technical decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ansible, Argo Workflows, or Argo Events.
• Experience operating compute-intensive or distributed workloads.
• Experience with reliability engineering, SLOs/SLIs, incident response, or infrastructure cost optimisation.
• Experience mentoring engineers or setting technical standards.
