Senior Software Engineer II (Go, Storage)

Location: Remote - Canada

Base salary: $250,000–$280,000 CAD per year, based on experience

What you will do

• Design and implement solutions for query and data-storage infrastructure handling billions of events.
• Improve query performance, evolve the Retriever service, and strengthen storage-layer reliability.
• Scope and deliver complex projects independently, from technical design through production support.
• Collaborate with Product Management and engineering teams to connect technical solutions with product needs.
• Participate in on-call rotations, define team KPIs and SLOs, and reduce operational toil.
• Pair with teammates, review code, provide constructive feedback, and support knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Technical leadership in storage and querying, with experience designing patterns that improve performance and reliability.
• Strong Go development experience and work on high-throughput or complex systems.
• Ability to scope and deliver complex, multi-team projects while balancing production requirements.
• Deep debugging expertise across the stack and experience resolving difficult production issues.
• Experience mentoring engineers, guiding code reviews, and influencing technology adoption beyond the immediate team.
• Must be located in Canada and eligible to work there; visa transfers and sponsorship are not supported.

Nice to have

• Database engineering experience.
• Comfort working with Kubernetes.
