Operations Engineering Co-Op - Spring/Summer (Medical Devices): Supporting the Test Engineering team with test system and electro-mechanical fixture development, documentation, research, and limited design work with an accent on electrical circuits, electronic components, and hands-on assembly. Focus on building and documenting test fixtures, using basic tools and soldering techniques, and supporting engineering projects under close supervision.

Location: On-site in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States

Hourly pay: $20.00–$24.00 per hour

Develops medical devices, software, and related services for diagnosing and treating serious cardiopulmonary and respiratory conditions.

What you will do

  • Support the Test Engineering team on engineering projects and applications.
  • Assist with test system and electro-mechanical fixture development.
  • Prepare documentation, conduct research, and contribute to studies and limited design work.
  • Use small hand or power tools and perform basic soldering as needed.
  • Complete assignments under close supervision with all work reviewed by Test Engineering.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and active enrollment in an accredited university program.
  • Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in an engineering field, preferably electrical or electronic engineering.
  • Completed the first full year of university study.
  • Basic understanding of electricity, electrical circuits, and electronic components.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to meet frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, or signal generators.
  • Software development or programming knowledge.
  • Knowledge of PCB layout tools and basic mechanical aptitude.
