Student Development Specialist I (Career Services)

Location: Laredo, Texas, United States; on-campus, face-to-face work required

What you will do

• Advise student groups and organizations and counsel students on personal and educational matters.
• Serve as a referral resource and help students explore career interests, educational goals, and career readiness opportunities.
• Develop and deliver workshops, presentations, and educational programs on student success, leadership development, and career readiness.
• Coordinate and promote programs supporting student success, career exploration, and professional development.
• Maintain student and administrative records and prepare memoranda, publications, and reports.
• Build collaborative relationships with campus departments and community organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• No prior experience required.
• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to multitask cooperatively.
• Regular attendance on campus and in the workplace is required.
• Evening and/or weekend hours may be required.
