Senior Staff Electrical Engineer (FlatSat)

What you will do

• Define the architecture, configuration, and roadmap for the FlatSat environment.
• Develop system-level integration plans spanning flight hardware, avionics, software, ground interfaces, and ground support equipment.
• Build infrastructure for full mission simulations, end-to-end testing, regression testing, mission rehearsals, and anomaly reproduction.
• Design and build custom ground support equipment and test interfaces, including mechanical, electrical, and network integration.
• Coordinate integration campaigns across flight software, hardware, RF, payload, and ground teams.
• Drive configuration management, documentation, safe operating procedures, risk tracking, and readiness reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 15 years of experience in spacecraft integration, systems engineering, or hardware/software test environments.
• Hands-on experience with satellite subsystems and avionics, including spacecraft power, communications, command and data handling, and ground interfaces.
• Experience designing or supporting hardware-in-the-loop or integration testbeds, and the ability to interpret electrical schematics and system diagrams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving technical environment.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, conditional resident, asylee, refugee, or otherwise eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice to have

• Leadership experience on small satellite or spacecraft integration programs.
• Experience designing custom ground support equipment or supporting FlatSat and hardware-in-the-loop test campaigns.
• Knowledge of RF and payload integration.
• Experience with environmental testing, mission rehearsals, high-reliability systems, or mission-critical systems.
