TL;DR
Senior EW Test & Evaluation Engineer (Electronic Warfare): Planning and executing benchtop and radiated test campaigns to characterize unmanned systems against jamming threats with an accent on RF instrumentation, OTA measurement, and anti-jam countermeasures. Focus on translating test findings into actionable design requirements, verifying implemented changes, and closing the test-characterize-spec-retest loop.

Location: Torrance, California, United States

Salary: $187,000–$261,500 USD per year

Company

hirify.global is a defense technology company designing and manufacturing high-performance unmanned systems for modern battlefield applications.

What you will do

  • Plan and execute benchtop and radiated over-the-air test campaigns against jamming threats, including test setup, instrumentation, and calibration.
  • Characterize system performance under jamming and identify failure modes, vulnerabilities, and degraded-link conditions.
  • Determine effective countermeasures and anti-jam techniques, including frequency agility, spatial nulling, waveform management, and power management.
  • Translate test results into actionable specifications and design requirements for the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with counter-UAS engineers to model realistic jamming tactics and threat behavior.
  • Verify implemented changes through iterative re-testing and close the test-characterize-spec-retest loop.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, RF/microwave engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in RF systems, electronic warfare, or communications test and evaluation, including ownership of test campaigns from planning through reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of link budgets, antenna theory and patterns, RF propagation, modulation, waveforms, and LPI/LPD concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with spectrum and signal analyzers, vector signal generators, VNAs, power meters, and other RF test instrumentation.
  • Experience with OTA testing in anechoic or reverberation chambers and open-air ranges, including calibrated antennas, path-loss accounting, and measurement uncertainty.
  • Ability to use MATLAB or Python for measurement-data analysis, presentation, and test automation.

Nice to have

  • Experience with counter-UAS or UAS systems and collaboration with CUAS engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with DoD developmental test and evaluation processes, test planning documentation, and reporting standards.
  • Experience designing or integrating anti-jam waveforms, frequency-agile systems, or adaptive/nulling antenna architectures.
  • Active U.S. security clearance at Secret level or higher, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Experience with jammer threat-emulation hardware or EW signal-generation systems.

Culture & Benefits

  • Fast-paced, hands-on startup environment focused on moving systems from design to deployment.
  • Work on unmanned defense systems tested in combat and built at scale.
  • Equity grants are included as part of the total compensation package.
