OT Security Engineer (Cybersecurity): Assessing and securing complex operational technology and industrial control system environments in the energy sector with an accent on OT assessments, network architecture, vulnerability identification, and technical security controls. Focus on deploying and configuring security technologies, interpreting system data flows, conducting site visits, and solving practical security challenges across critical infrastructure environments.
Location: Hybrid in Glasgow or Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom. The role includes customer site visits, including onshore and offshore environments.

What you will do
- Support OT and industrial control system cybersecurity assessments, audits, and technical reviews.
- Visit onshore and offshore customer sites to assess systems and gather asset inventory information.
- Develop and interpret OT network topology diagrams, system architectures, and data flows.
- Identify vulnerabilities and implement baseline OT cybersecurity controls, including network security and endpoint protection.
- Deploy, configure, and test security technologies in operational environments.
- Produce technical documentation, assessment reports, security evidence, processes, and procedures.
Requirements
- Experience in OT, ICS, industrial control systems, cybersecurity, or related technical environments.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, operating systems, cybersecurity principles, industrial networks, and system data flows.
- Experience implementing, configuring, or supporting anti-malware, endpoint protection, or network security controls.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, network diagrams, and system architectures, with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience; practical OT experience is valued more than specific qualifications.
- Willingness to attend customer sites and technical workshops, including work in critical infrastructure environments.
Nice to have
- CCNA, MCSA, MCSE, or equivalent technical knowledge.
- Knowledge of IEC 62443, NIST, and other OT cybersecurity frameworks.
- BOSIET certification.
- Understanding of industrial site safety practices.
