Journeyman Data Scientist (Data Pipelines)

Location: Remote or hybrid within the United States; occasional travel to the National Capital Region.

Salary: $125,000–$155,000 annually.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain automated extraction, transformation, and loading pipelines for large, heterogeneous datasets.
• Implement data quality checks, validation rules, error handling, logging, metadata tagging, and data lineage.
• Maintain pipeline code, configuration, infrastructure-as-code, and redeployment documentation in a government repository.
• Improve analytical models through feature engineering, hyperparameter tuning, and cross-validation.
• Build dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Collaborate with cost analysts and engineers to translate findings into actionable recommendations.

Requirements

• At least five years of data science experience.
• Proficiency in Python and R, including data manipulation libraries and machine learning frameworks.
• Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Advanced knowledge of Databricks or an equivalent data platform.
• Experience presenting findings with visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Active Secret clearance required at hire; United States citizenship required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Spark and cloud-based data warehousing.
• Exposure to federal acquisition, financial, or program management data.
• Experience working in a government-authorized cloud environment.
• Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
