Data Engineer (IoT)

Location: Markham, Ontario, Canada. Minimum 3 days per week in the office, with the ability to extend to 5 days as business needs require.

Salary: CAD $75,000–$95,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual bonus of up to 2.5% of base salary.

What you will do

• Execute daily profile generation processes and provide accurate data in the required formats to internal stakeholders and clients.
• Use the Identity Service Platform to generate profiles, monitor order status, and manage release sample and personalization data.
• Translate and transfer production data through EDI, GenTran, SyteLine, and related ERP integrations.
• Provide first-level support, troubleshoot incidents, and coordinate resolution activities with customers, internal resolver groups, engineers, and external parties.
• Use Splunk dashboards to monitor orders, investigate issues, and support service quality and KPI targets.
• Document end-to-end solutions, contribute to capacity planning, and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical or engineering field, plus 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with data generation, software installation and configuration, troubleshooting, integration, and incident or problem resolution.
• Knowledge of database systems such as MS SQL Server; Oracle knowledge is preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes, service management, secure environments, and telecommunications or OEM solutions is preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours and occasional weekends, with a minimum of 3 office days per week in Markham.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Splunk query language, Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, or enterprise Kubernetes clusters.
• Experience with Infor SyteLine EDI, Sterling’s GENTRAN translator, SAP, SFTP, or managed file transfer systems.
• Automation or scripting experience and telecommunications industry experience.
• Experience working across diverse cultures.
