What you will do

• Analyze electronic trading system performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Generate, implement, test, and deploy enhancements that improve commercial performance.
• Improve the safety, reliability, and deterministic behavior of trading systems.
• Build and optimize foundational technologies for automated market-making algorithms and supporting research.
• Collaborate with engineers, traders, sales teams, and other technology groups.
• Balance short-term business needs with strategic system enhancements across the full software lifecycle.

Requirements

• Strong academic background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or another analytical field.
• Strong software engineering experience and the ability to analyze data and draw commercial conclusions.
• Experience building systems with strict low-latency and deterministic-performance requirements.
• Experience tuning and optimizing distributed systems.
• Experience with Linux shell environments and communicating technical topics to non-specialist audiences.
• Productive collaboration with sales, trading, and technology teams.

Nice to have

• Securities or trading experience.
• Multithreaded and concurrent programming.
• Just-in-time compilation, code-path optimization, and memory-management strategies.
• JVM tuning, low-latency messaging, network protocols, Java network I/O, and JNI.
• Hardware architecture and Linux kernel or operating-system internals.
