TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer - .NET (.NET/C#): Building and maintaining scalable services for configuration-driven, multi-client lending decisioning platforms with an accent on reliability, data integrity, automated testing, and controlled releases. Focus on designing safe changes across client configurations, modernising the platform toward AWS cloud-native architecture, and mentoring developers while using AI-assisted development tools.
Location: Nottingham, England; hybrid with 40% office attendance

What you will do
- Own features across requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, code review, deployment, and post-release support.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable C#/.NET services and components for complex, configuration-driven, multi-client platforms.
- Translate business and client-specific requirements into robust technical designs with technical leads, architects, analysts, and product owners.
- Improve unit, integration, and regression test coverage to support safe releases into a live platform.
- Contribute to Git and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, technical-debt remediation, and migration toward AWS cloud-native architecture.
- Mentor intermediate and junior developers, including effective use of AI-assisted development tools.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in .NET Core/.NET Framework and C#, including object-oriented design and common design patterns.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle, ideally supporting a live, business-critical production system.
- Strong SQL Server/T-SQL experience, including query and stored-procedure optimisation against production data.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with service-oriented or microservice architectures.
- Practical experience with unit and integration testing frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD tooling, and Scrum or another Agile methodology, plus everyday use of AI-assisted development tools.
Nice to have
- Exposure to AWS services, Infrastructure as Code, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Experience in financial services, lending, credit decisioning, or another regulated domain.
- Exposure to React, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Experience with configuration-driven or rules-engine-based systems.
