Consultant, Governance and Controls

Location: Toronto, ON; hybrid arrangement with 1–3 days per week onsite at Toronto-81 Bay

What you will do

• Support governance activities and control management across the Legal function.
• Plan and conduct control testing, deficiency management, and remediation activities to reduce operational risk and potential losses.
• Maintain documented internal control structures, policies, procedures, and reporting.
• Review Financial Process Controls, Operational Process Controls, and Risk and Control Matrices results.
• Analyze issues, identify root causes, and recommend process and governance improvements.
• Collaborate with risk management, compliance, process owners, accountable officers, and internal and external auditors.

Requirements

• Experience in analysis, reporting, problem solving, and communication.
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
• Ability to investigate complex problems, interpret policies and standards, and communicate detailed information clearly.
• Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, relationship management, and collaboration skills.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada at the specified location; a valid work or study permit may be required.

Nice to have

• Experience with governance, risk, and compliance tools such as eGRC and Archer.
