Managing Consulting - Technical (Power & Renewables): Delivering technical due diligence and advisory projects for power and renewables investments in Spain and Portugal with an accent on transmission and distribution networks, permitting, energy yield assessments, and regulatory analysis. Focus on leading client engagements, building and interpreting quantitative models, translating complex findings into actionable recommendations, and mentoring junior consultants.

Location: Madrid, Spain; primarily based in the Madrid office. Travel is required for client meetings and occasional project assignments at client sites. Applicants must have the right to live and work in Spain.

What you will do

  • Deliver consulting technical due diligence projects for M&A investments in the power and renewables sector.
  • Analyze transmission and distribution networks, permitting requirements, energy yields, and regulatory issues.
  • Prepare analysis, reports, and presentations that translate complex technical topics into actionable client insights.
  • Lead client engagements and work directly with major investors, utilities, regulators, and government bodies.
  • Manage project teams, budgets, and deliverables while mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Represent the practice at industry events, client workshops, and expert panels.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Energy Economics, or a related technical field.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in technical due diligence or a related field.
  • Deep technical knowledge of permitting phases and energy yield assessments.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including structuring complex problems and building and interpreting models.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills in Spanish and English, including the ability to explain technical and regulatory topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing project teams, budgets, and deliverables in a fast-paced advisory environment.
