Senior Consultant or Director (Energy)

Location: Hybrid; colleagues are expected to work in their local office or onsite with clients at least three days per week.

Salary: $225,000–$275,000 per year base salary, plus potential performance-based incentives.

What you will do

• Analyze energy and transportation markets using quantitative methods.
• Evaluate regulation, competition, and commercial matters.
• Conduct analyses for energy and transportation regulatory and commercial disputes.
• Provide expert testimony and communicate findings clearly and convincingly.
• Lead projects, manage P&L, and build client relationships.
• Develop and run an independent microbusiness within the broader NERA platform.

Requirements

• 6–8+ years of relevant experience supporting energy clients on high-value matters.
• Experience across electricity, oil and gas, and renewable energy.
• Broad regulatory and litigation experience.
• Experience testifying and leading projects.
• Ability to work independently, manage P&L, and own client relationships.

Nice to have

• Experience across mining, infrastructure, or related industries.
