Financial Operations Graduate (Fintech)

Location: London, UK; hybrid, with the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays and regular office attendance on other days

What you will do

• Run daily pre-release checks on partner funding, reconcile payment evidence with disbursal records, and confirm that funds reached intended recipients.
• Hold, investigate, escalate, and document payment exceptions while maintaining complete audit trails.
• Verify partner and payee bank details and support the onboarding of additional partners to the control process.
• Support payment operations, including cash allocation, refunds, returned payments, payment files, and bank-provider reconciliations.
• Validate partner indemnity recovery cases, prepare recovery figures, track invoices and outstanding amounts, and support cancelled-agreement unwinds.
• Improve and automate manual controls using matching rules, scripts, and monitoring.

Requirements

• Degree completed within the last two years with a 2:1 or above, or equivalent, in STEM, finance, accounting, economics, or another quantitative subject.
• Strong numeracy, attention to detail, healthy scepticism, and the ability to work with large volumes of transactional data.
• Confidence using Google Sheets or Excel, including lookups, filters, and clear, checkable working.
• Clear written communication and confidence explaining payment issues to non-finance colleagues.
• Ability to work professionally with external partners, obtain documentation, and challenge incomplete evidence.
• Careful handling of sensitive customer, partner, and payment data.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Python, SQL, or a similar language and an interest in automating repetitive work; the data warehouse environment uses Snowflake.
• Internship, placement, or project experience in finance, operations, or real-world data.
• Interest in payments, lending, or how money moves between businesses.
