Location: Tumela Sub Shaft, Thabazimbi, South Africa; onsite underground mining role

What you will do

• Provide engineering technical services to an underground operational area.
• Maintain, install, and commission machinery and equipment to agreed standards.
• Attend safety meetings, conduct risk assessments, and respond to breakdowns and emergencies.
• Allocate tasks and provide on-the-job induction, coaching, and training to subordinates and apprentices.
• Ensure the availability of materials, spares, and equipment, and complete maintenance job cards.
• Report defects, incidents, injuries, and at-risk behavior while coordinating with supervisors and other departments.

Requirements

• Grade 12 and Technical Trade Specific N2.
• Certified competent as a Fitter or holding a Fitter Trade Certificate.
• 2–5 years of underground experience.
• English literacy is required: speaking, reading, and writing.
• Familiarity with risk assessment procedures, basic computer skills, and a valid Code 08 driving licence.
• Availability for standby duty and overtime.
