What you will do

  • Conduct site assessments and support the design and planning of solar photovoltaic installations.
  • Install racking, solar panels, electrical components, wiring, and grounding systems.
  • Test, validate, and verify the performance and efficiency of completed installations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot solar system issues.
  • Document installation and maintenance activities and collaborate with the operations team.
  • Follow PPE, safety, and SANS installation requirements while travelling to work sites in a company vehicle.

Requirements

  • National Certificate in Electrical Trades (N3) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Compulsory: One Phase Wiremen's License.
  • At least 2 years of experience in solar panel installation or a related field.
  • Knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical fundamentals, SANS Wiring Code SANS 10142-1, and South African safety regulations.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics, work at heights and in varied weather conditions, and lift heavy equipment.
  • Valid South African driver's license required.

Nice to have

  • Registration with ECSA as a Candidate Engineering Technician.
  • Experience with different roofing materials.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
