DCS Project Engineer (Automation)

Location: Durban, South Africa; based in or willing to relocate to the Durban area, with regular travel to customer sites in Durban and Richards Bay and occasional travel within South Africa

What you will do

• Perform application and project engineering for Distributed Control System (DCS) projects.
• Configure, test, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot automation systems.
• Support customer projects from engineering through start-up and commissioning.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests.
• Prepare technical documentation and support service agreements and lifecycle activities.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Service Engineers, Sales teams, customers, and colleagues on technical evaluations, quotations, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Process Control, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in industrial automation, control systems, process control, or project engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Distributed Control Systems; hirify.global DNA or DNAe knowledge is preferred.
• Strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Based in, or willing to relocate to, the Durban area; regular travel to customer sites and occasional travel within South Africa is required.
• Willingness to participate in on-call support rotations when required. Good English communication skills and a proactive attitude are also required.
