Testfield Technician (RF Electronics)

Location: Pretoria, South Africa; on-site production environment

What you will do

• Prepare and execute electronic product tests using approved documentation, instrumentation, software, firmware, and test configurations.
• Diagnose faults at component, subsystem, and system level using circuit diagrams, diagnostic procedures, and electronic test equipment.
• Perform component-level repairs, soldering, rework, and product restoration in line with technical procedures and IPC requirements.
• Verify workmanship and product compliance through acceptance testing, burn-in, Environmental Stress Screening, vibration testing, and related processes.
• Maintain test records, job cards, fault reports, and FRACAS information while meeting ESD, safety, quality, and production-control requirements.

Requirements

• T3, N6, or S4 qualification in Electronic Engineering; a Diploma in Electronic Engineering is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in electronic manufacturing or production testing.
• Practical experience in radio-frequency measurement and testing.
• Experience with component-level fault finding and repair in a military electronic environment.
• Experience with analogue and digital electronics, electronic test equipment, circuit diagrams, and manufacturing drawings.
• Experience with computer-based testing, Automatic Test Equipment, and IPC certification are advantageous.
