Sports Data & AI Scientist (AI)

Location: Thalgau, Austria; hirify.global Athlete Performance Center. Full-time role with 10–20% travel.

Salary: Minimum EUR 2,968, with a market-oriented compensation package significantly above the stated minimum.

What you will do

• Monitor and benchmark athlete and team performance across football, cycling, and other sports using training, competition, physiological, and wearable data.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify performance trends, outliers, and best practices across clubs, teams, and athletes.
• Develop predictive models supporting readiness, training response, and performance development decisions.
• Build dashboards, automated analytics, and data products for continuous performance monitoring and network benchmarking.
• Develop conversational AI that enables sports practitioners to query data, investigate trends, and access insights using natural language.
• Translate complex analyses into actionable insights for coaches, performance staff, and leadership, while transferring methods across sports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Data Science, Statistics, Sports Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong expertise in data science, statistics, machine learning, Python, and SQL.
• Experience with performance analysis, predictive modeling, data products, and AI applications.
• Strong sports domain knowledge and experience with athlete, training, competition, physiological, or wearable data.
• Ability to turn complex data into actionable insights, supported by strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English required; German is a plus.
