2027 Summer Intern Digital Manufacturing Engineering (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Waukesha, Wisconsin, United States. The internship runs from May/June through August 2027, with occasional travel to other hirify.global facilities.

What you will do

• Build and document manufacturing execution system (MES) applications and digital manufacturing solutions.
• Design, validate, and document digital solutions for industrial and residential production sites.
• Create and modify Power BI dashboards, analytical summaries, and technical presentations.
• Integrate manufacturing systems through APIs and create OPC-UA-based machine connections.
• Support change requests, project scopes, plans, cost estimates, technical documentation, and training materials.
• Work with the IT data team on data lake refinement and provide technical support for assigned projects.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
• Understanding of discrete manufacturing workflows and exposure to MES, ERP, supply chain systems, or industrial data platforms.
• Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Python visualization libraries.
• Understanding of data pipelines, including ingestion, transformation, storage, and analysis.
• Proficiency in Python, R, Julia, or similar data analysis and scripting languages, plus Microsoft Office and Excel experience.
• Must be available for a full-time, 40-hour work week during the summer program; work during academic breaks may also be possible.
