Commercial Specialist (Defence Procurement): Supporting procurement, tendering, commercial governance, contract management, and risk management across Defence acquisition and sustainment programs with an accent on ASDEFCON contracts, commercial strategies, and stakeholder coordination. What you will do
- Deliver procurement activities, tender documentation, and commercial strategies for Defence acquisition programs.
- Support contract management for ASDEFCON acquisition and sustainment contracts.
- Process contract changes, review deliverables, monitor contractor performance, and support commercial negotiations.
- Develop procurement strategies, contract management plans, tender evaluation plans, approval submissions, and risk assessments.
- Provide commercial and finance advice to delegates and stakeholders while ensuring compliance with departmental procurement policies.
- Coordinate contract meetings, workshops, forums, governance activities, and project reporting.
Requirements
- Experience in Defence commercial and procurement activities.
- Understanding of contracts, deeds, indemnities, obligations, and variation clauses.
- Experience coordinating governance activities, documentation control, meeting packs, and quality assurance.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Australian citizenship and a current NV1 Defence Security Clearance or higher are required.
Nice to have
- Project management experience.
- Knowledge of Defence Writing Standards and internal Defence processes.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and meet demanding milestones.
