Legal Counsel, Privacy, AI, & Digital Governance

Location: Utah, United States; hybrid with regular in-office days each week

What you will do

• Support the Associate General Counsel in operating privacy, AI governance, legal, and transactional programs.
• Maintain privacy notices, customer contract addendums, policies, templates, and audit-ready program documentation.
• Review and escalate privacy and AI rights requests while maintaining defensible records of program activities.
• Partner with Legal, Security, Risk, Product, Marketing, and other functions on incident response, risk assessments, control remediation, and data protection matters.
• Support privacy operations for marketing technologies, website operations, cookie consent, data collection, vendor risk, and appropriate data use.
• Monitor GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, GLBA, US state privacy laws, and AI regulatory developments, providing practical guidance and escalating material risks.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree or equivalent legal experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in privacy, data protection, AI governance, cybersecurity, or technology-related functions.
• Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, GLBA, and emerging privacy requirements.
• Strong interest in AI governance, AI risk management, or emerging AI regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical business solutions, with strong analytical, organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to work in a Utah-based hybrid arrangement with regular in-office days is required.

Nice to have

• Privacy program experience in a SaaS or high-growth technology company.
• Experience with privacy impact assessments, AI risk assessments, vendor reviews, incident response, training, or vendor risk management.
• Familiarity with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, ISO standards, or emerging AI regulations.
• In-house experience supporting privacy, security, or responsible AI initiatives.
