IT Ops Engineer, Networking

Location: San Francisco Bay Area; office attendance required 3 days per week

Base salary: $156,000–$195,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own office and remote networking across wireless, wired LAN, switching, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, VPN, and Zero Trust access.
• Monitor network systems and manage configuration through automation and version control where supported.
• Manage the networking MSP relationship, escalation path, documentation, and operational handoff.
• Support employees through the shared IT queue and participate in on-call rotations.
• Identify recurring workflow failures, automate them, and measure improvements in time and risk saved.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on experience with corporate and enterprise networking, including wireless, switching, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, VPN, and Zero Trust access.
• Generalist knowledge of identity platforms such as Okta, endpoint management tools such as Jamf and Intune, and SaaS management.
• Strong scripting, no-code and low-code workflow automation skills, with the ability to use AI to accelerate automation.
• Business-oriented troubleshooting, clear written communication, collaboration, and a secure-by-design mindset.
• 5+ years of experience managing IT systems in high-growth technology companies.

Nice to have

• CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent networking depth.
• Exposure to SOC 2 or SOX access-review processes.
• Experience in high-growth consumer technology and multi-region support.
