Quality Engineer, Electrical (Aerospace)

Location: San Jose, California; fully onsite five days per week. The company is registered to hire in select U.S. states, and the role requires travel of up to 40% to supplier sites.

Salary: $139,000–$157,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Plan, execute, and oversee inspections and testing of satellites, subassemblies, PCBAs, harnesses, and other electrical hardware.
• Lead nonconformance root-cause analysis, corrective-action disposition, and quality record tracking.
• Build and maintain the Quality Management System, specifications, workmanship standards, work instructions, inspection records, and test reports.
• Improve electrical hardware inspection, assembly, and nonconformance-management processes using quality and test data.
• Partner with design, manufacturing, test, supplier-quality, and vendor teams to resolve quality issues and conduct supplier audits.
• Train personnel on IPC workmanship criteria, quality systems, procedures, and core processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or manufacturing, including 3+ years with aerospace Class 3 electrical components.
• Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 requirements, including applicable Space Addendums.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, PCB and PCBA drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of GMP, part and document control, defect management, AS9100, ISO 9001, and regulated or cleanroom manufacturing environments.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements for access to ITAR/EAR-controlled information.
