Technical Program Manager, Avionics

Location: San Jose, California, United States. Hybrid work is required three days per week after an initial six-month, full-time on-site ramp-up period.

Salary: $174,000–$199,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the delivery pipeline and schedules for tested, flight-ready avionics PCBA units used in spacecraft integration and Hardware-in-the-Loop testbeds.
• Plan and execute Unit Acceptance Testing, including resource allocation, readiness tracking, metrics, yield analysis, and risk reporting.
• Establish and maintain PCBA release timelines across current and future satellite constellation blocks.
• Coordinate execution across electrical engineering, PCBA fabrication, assembly, functional testing, flight software, and vehicle Assembly, Integration, and Test teams.
• Track procurement, long-lead components, custom PCBAs, mechanical enclosures, and mounting hardware.
• Identify and resolve supply chain bottlenecks, component obsolescence, lead-time increases, and test fallout.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering leadership, or hardware production management for complex electronic assemblies, electronics systems, or aerospace hardware.
• Hands-on background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, embedded systems, or avionics testing.
• Experience managing PCBA production lifecycles from design release and fabrication or assembly procurement through board bring-up and acceptance testing.
• Experience managing programs with complex critical-path supply chains and hardware/software integration environments, testbeds, or HITL simulators.
• Familiarity with scheduling tools such as Smartsheet or Microsoft Project.
• U.S. citizenship or other qualifying U.S. person/export authorization status is required for ITAR-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Experience in satellite or aerospace AI&T, avionics manufacturing, or satellite constellation volume production.
• Knowledge of space-grade PCBA standards, including IPC-J-STD-001GS, IPC-A-610, or NASA-STD-8739.
• Experience managing environmental and acceptance testing such as thermal cycling, functional screening, vibration, or shock testing.
• Experience with ERP, PLM, and tracking tools such as Jira, Arena, Agile PLM, or SAP; PMP certification is also valued.
• Linux command-line experience and Python scripting skills.
