TL;DR
Mission Manager (Aerospace): Managing customer space missions from contract signing through payload integration and launch with an accent on technical milestones, hardware integration, and customer coordination. Focus on developing payload-to-launch-vehicle interface documentation, leading mission reviews, supporting technical sales, and coordinating launch-site activities for suborbital and hypersonic payloads.

Location: Long Beach, California, with work based at hirify.global sites in North America; frequent travel to launch pads, customer sites, Auckland, New Zealand, and Wallops, Virginia is required. For US office roles, candidates must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements and be willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

Base salary: $116,800–$160,600 USD annually. Total compensation including equity: $137,075–$196,275 USD annually.

What you will do

  • Manage multiple customer missions across technical, programmatic, and financial milestones.
  • Oversee hands-on payload integration, including fit checks, dispenser integration, and launch vehicle integration.
  • Lead customer technical milestone reviews, including mission design and test readiness reviews.
  • Develop and verify launch vehicle-to-payload spacecraft Interface Control Documentation.
  • Coordinate with customers and technical staff, and support proposals, lead generation, and technical sales engineering reviews.
  • Represent hirify.global at conferences, industry forums, outreach events, and recruiting events while helping develop Mission Integrators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical discipline; mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering is preferred.
  • 5+ years of mission management or technical program management experience.
  • Hardware integration or project management experience with launch vehicles or spacecraft projects.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to launch sites and customer locations.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • US-office candidates must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience with suborbital or hypersonic payloads.
  • Experience with ITAR and establishing Technical Assistance Agreements.
  • Mission management or mission integration experience.
  • Experience working hands-on with complex mechanical systems and reading mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Strong presentation, technical writing, interpersonal, organizational, and customer-capture skills.
