TL;DR
Mission Manager (Aerospace): Managing customer missions from contract signing through payload integration and launch with an accent on technical, programmatic, and financial milestones. Focus on leading payload integration, interface control documentation, customer milestone reviews, and complex domestic and international launch operations.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. The role is based at a hirify.global site in North America and involves travel to launch pads, customer sites, and overseas locations including New Zealand. U.S. office roles require eligibility under ITAR regulations.

Base salary: $116,800–$160,600 USD annually. Total compensation including equity: $137,075–$196,275 USD annually.

What you will do

  • Manage multiple customer missions across technical, programmatic, and financial milestones.
  • Oversee hands-on payload integration, including fit checks, dispenser integration, and launch vehicle integration.
  • Lead customer milestone reviews such as mission design and test readiness reviews.
  • Develop and verify launch vehicle-to-payload spacecraft Interface Control Documentation.
  • Support business development through proposal input, lead generation, and technical sales engineering reviews.
  • Maintain customer communication, represent the company at industry events, and help develop Mission Integrators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical discipline; mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years of mission management or technical program management experience.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
  • Hardware integration or project management experience on launch vehicle or spacecraft projects.
  • For U.S. office work, eligibility to access ITAR-regulated technology is required.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to launch sites and customer locations.

Nice to have

  • Experience with suborbital or hypersonic payloads.
  • Previous ITAR experience and establishment of Technical Assistance Agreements.
  • Mission management or mission integration experience.
  • Experience working hands-on with complex mechanical systems and reading mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Technical writing, presentation, organizational, and customer-facing sales support skills.
