Staff Engineer, Engineering

Location: Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia; onsite at the Sarawak Kuching Office

What you will do

• Lead technical teams, provide engineering guidance, and resolve electrical system issues, including crises outside regular working hours.
• Operate, maintain, monitor, and improve high-tension, low-tension, and emergency power distribution systems across the factory.
• Manage electrical, fire protection, and public address systems, including system upgrades and outsourced service contracts.
• Coordinate with engineering and production teams on manufacturing equipment, utility requirements, reliability, and quality standards.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with safety, quality, operational, IMS, and RBA requirements.
• Control utility costs and implement efficiency improvements, cost savings, documentation updates, and regulatory compliance activities.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant work experience.
• Expertise in electrical, fire protection, and public address systems.
• Competency certification is required; certification by a professional body is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is required; AutoCAD or related software experience is highly desired.

• Experience working in a clean room environment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
