Specialist, Emergency Management (Oil and Gas): Strengthening emergency preparedness, crisis readiness, response capability, and business resilience across Chevron Australia with an accent on emergency plans, crisis management, business continuity, and oil spill response. Focus on coordinating drills and exercises, supporting incident activations, improving operational safeguards, and building response capability across high-hazard sites.
Location: Perth, Western Australia, Australia. Regular travel to -operated locations, including Barrow Island, Onslow, and the Wheatstone Platform, is required, including planned leave coverage for a minimum of 8–10 weeks per year.

What you will do
- Coordinate emergency management preparedness and capability activities across Australia.
- Support Incident Management Teams, site emergency management specialists, and operational leadership teams.
- Develop, maintain, and assure emergency management plans, systems, equipment, and response capabilities.
- Coordinate and evaluate training, drills, workshops, and exercises, using lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
- Provide specialist support during incident and crisis activations, including preparedness, response, recovery, and resilience activities.
- Partner with operational teams, workforce representatives, support functions, and ’s global Emergency Management network to standardise processes and strengthen capability.
Requirements
- Practical experience planning, implementing, and assuring emergency management programs in oil and gas, resources, energy, or another high-hazard operating environment.
- Experience with emergency preparedness and response, crisis management, business continuity, and/or oil spill response.
- Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, facilitation, and influencing skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and translate technical requirements into practical operational solutions.
- Ability to build trusted relationships and influence leaders, frontline personnel, business partners, support teams, and emergency service providers.
- A qualification in Emergency Management, Risk Management, Safety, Business Continuity, or a related discipline is desirable; knowledge of Australian emergency management frameworks and Western Australian legislation is also desirable.
