Cable Assembly Operator

hirify.global, through GEW Technologies, develops and manufactures electronic, cable and mechanical assemblies for technical production environments.

What you will do

• Assemble RF, data, fibre-optic and power cables, wire harnesses, PCB assemblies and mechanical sub-assemblies.
• Perform cable preparation, stripping, termination, lead-free soldering, masking, baking, pre-heating, conformal coating and curing.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, assembly diagrams and manufacturing drawings.
• Inspect incoming kits and completed assemblies and perform alignment and basic functional testing.
• Complete job cards and build history documentation to maintain traceable production records.
• Perform rework, corrective actions and scheduled equipment maintenance while following safety and quality requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics, N3 in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a similar qualification.
• At least 5 years of experience in an electronics-related production or manufacturing environment.
• IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
• Practical experience in lead-free soldering and knowledge of surface-mount component identification and polarity.
• Ability to operate microscopes, cable jigs and cable-stripping equipment and to interpret manufacturing documentation.
• Experience in military or telecommunications environments is advantageous.
