KABC-TV (ABC7) Digital News Intern, Spring 2027

Location: Onsite in Glendale, California, United States, based in the Glendale newsroom

Salary: $18.47 per hour

An ABC-owned television station producing local news, public affairs, magazine programs, and public service campaigns for the Los Angeles market.

What you will do

• Write and publish digital news articles using wire copy, raw information, and television news scripts.
• Clip video from television newscasts.
• Monitor audience messages across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and X.
• Create social media assets, including graphics and vertical videos.
• Contribute to daily operations in a major-market television newsroom.

Requirements

• Knowledge of AP Style.
• Experience using social media platforms to publish content.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Coursework in producing, writing, or editing.
• Enrollment in an accredited college or university, age 18 or older, and unrestricted work authorization are required.
• Availability for 20 hours per week from Monday through Friday, with possible nights or early mornings, and reliable transportation to the Glendale workplace.

Nice to have

• Academic or internship experience in digital media or journalism.
• Experience with Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop.
• Junior or senior academic standing.
