Temporary NewsNation Digital Content Producer

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; onsite in the Chicago newsroom. Full-time temporary assignment for approximately 3 months. Typical hours are 4:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with schedule and assignment changes as needed.

Salary: $30.00 per hour

What you will do

• Create accurate, differentiated news stories for national digital audiences.
• Create or edit videos that clarify the importance of news stories.
• Write headlines, push alerts, and social media posts.
• Edit wire and local network-affiliated content while maintaining journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Repurpose broadcast segments for digital platforms and social media channels.
• Apply SEO best practices to published content.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience working in news as a digital reporter or producer.
• Strong news judgment and the ability to identify local stories with national appeal.
• Experience with video and social media.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising, or marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Ability to work onsite in the Chicago newsroom and adjust schedules as network needs evolve.
