hirify.global operates PIX11 News and its local digital news platforms.

What you will do

• Write multiple local news stories per day for PIX11.com.
• Produce and edit at least two vertical videos daily for social platforms and news apps.
• Discover breaking and audience-relevant stories across New York City and New Jersey.
• Create social media copy, mobile app alerts, desktop pushes, headlines, and video graphics.
• Use SEO, website optimization, and audience analytics to improve reach and inform editorial decisions.
• Clip and publish newscast segments and assist with assignment desk newsgathering when needed.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of digital news reporting or writing experience.
• 2–3 years of experience gathering news in a linear or broadcast environment.
• Proficiency in vertical video production, including Adobe Premiere and CapCut.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices, website optimization, social media platforms, and digital analytics.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with digital producers, assignment editors, reporters, and TV producers.
• Commitment to fast, accurate, fair, and reliable local news coverage; availability for morning, evening, and weekend shifts.

Nice to have

• Experience with WordPress, Google Trends, Chartbeat, Meta Insights, and Social News Desk.
• At least five writing samples published within the last two years.
