Senior Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle)

Location: Remote within the United States, supporting the U.S. Government Publishing Office in Washington, DC. Work 8 hours per day within 7:30 AM–6:00 PM ET, with periodic scheduled after-hours patching and reboot work.

What you will do

• Administer and maintain Oracle databases across on-premises and cloud environments, including Oracle Grid and RMAN backup and recovery.
• Lead database patching cycles, software installations, server maintenance, and scheduled reboots.
• Design and test high-availability, disaster-recovery, and point-in-time recovery solutions.
• Tune database performance at the optimizer and storage levels and monitor capacity and system health with Idera and SolarWinds.
• Troubleshoot database and application-level issues, including SharePoint integrations.
• Manage RFCs and ServiceNow tickets within SLAs, mentor a mid-level Oracle DBA, and provide weekly activity reports.

Requirements

• 8+ years of Oracle database administration experience.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Grid, RMAN, PL/SQL, and high availability/disaster recovery.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and MS Access.
• Experience creating and managing standalone Oracle databases.
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with technical staff and management.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States and during the required Eastern Time schedule.

Nice to have

• Oracle OCP or OCM certification.
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure experience.
• Federal or large-enterprise support experience.
