Senior Manager, Data Engineering

Salary: USD 146,100–206,010 per year, plus bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Lead and grow a data engineering team through hiring, mentoring, career development, and performance management.
• Own the technical roadmap and strategy for data ingestion and pipeline architecture.
• Partner with data modeling, analytics, product, and business leadership to prioritize data engineering initiatives.
• Align raw ingestion and curated pipeline outputs with semantic and dimensional data models.
• Set engineering standards for sprint planning, code reviews, testing, on-call response, and reliability.
• Guide architecture decisions using Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and API or file ingestion patterns.

Requirements

• Experience managing and growing a data engineering team, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Strong hands-on experience with pipeline design, ingestion patterns, and cloud data warehousing.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory and Snowflake.
• Experience setting technical roadmaps and prioritizing competing initiatives and stakeholders.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with analytics, product, and business leadership.
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field, including formal people-management experience.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling a data engineering team through significant growth.
• Familiarity with dbt, Terraform, ARM/Bicep, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience managing vendor relationships or tooling budgets.
• Exposure to real-time analytics or streaming technologies.
