Sr. Engineering Manager - Data Platform

What you will do

• Lead, recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing data platform engineering team.
• Set the strategy, architecture, roadmap, and technical direction for data ingestion, processing, storage, compute, orchestration, and observability.
• Define platform abstractions, APIs, service-level agreements, data quality standards, and developer workflows.
• Improve infrastructure resilience through monitoring, incident management, disaster recovery, security controls, governance, and cost optimization.
• Partner with Product, Data, Finance, Security, Audit, Analytics Engineering, and other organizations on multi-quarter initiatives.
• Build organizational standards that support machine learning, experimentation, business reporting, and data-powered products.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, SRE, infrastructure, data platform engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience managing, growing, and developing high-performing technical teams.
• Deep expertise with Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Databricks, or equivalent modern data warehousing systems, plus tools such as Airflow and dbt.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, infrastructure workload management, data security, platform SLAs, and governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and cross-organizational technical influence skills.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering customer-facing data products and scaling platform organizations during rapid growth.
• Experience with event-driven data architectures, experimentation platforms, machine learning initiatives, data science, and product analytics.
• Knowledge of metrics governance and executive KPI frameworks.
