Precision Cleaning Specialist (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States

Base salary: $70,000–$100,000 per year, excluding benefits and bonus/incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Build and establish a scalable precision cleaning organization and standardized cleaning processes.
• Create work instructions, SOPs, engineering test plans, equipment specifications, and qualification reports.
• Develop training programs, competency matrices, and certification requirements with technicians and engineers.
• Select and implement cleaning equipment, tooling, chemicals, fixtures, and supporting infrastructure.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, mechanical integration and test, quality, and design engineering teams to process hardware according to design intent.
• Troubleshoot discrepant hardware and drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Materials Science, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in precision cleaning, contamination control, or related manufacturing processes.
• Experience in technical writing, documentation, and planning.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret technical procedures and reports and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a U.S. Person and eligible to obtain required export authorizations under ITAR and EAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, space, defense, semiconductor, or other high-reliability industries.
• Experience with passivation of metallic parts.
• Experience creating manufacturing work instructions, routings, product structures, and EBOM/MBOM documentation.
• Familiarity with precision cleaning standards such as IEST-STD-CC-1246E.
