TL;DR
Quality Technician (Aerospace): Performing conformity inspections, process audits, First Article Inspection Reports, and defect analysis for aerospace and defense manufacturing with an accent on engineering specifications, customer requirements, and production quality. Focus on CMM inspection support, AS13001 certification, corrective actions, and training manufacturing operators and inspectors.

Location: Lynnwood, Washington, United States; onsite manufacturing environment

Salary: $33.42–$40.68 per hour

Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components for aerospace and defense applications, including power, sensing, and fluid-management solutions.

What you will do

  • Evaluate products, assemblies, and manufacturing processes against engineering drawings, samples, specifications, procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Perform conformity inspections, customer DQR source inspections, FAA DMIR activities, and internal process audits.
  • Prepare, review, and approve First Article Inspection Reports and develop audit checklists.
  • Inspect components and assemblies for defects, dimensions, fit, finishes, cleanliness, wire routing, encapsulation, and other quality characteristics.
  • Sort, report, and trend defect data; prepare nonconformance reports and corrective actions.
  • Train operators and inspectors, support inspection issues, and recommend manufacturing process improvements.

Requirements

  • 1–7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical measurement tools, or the ability to learn them.
  • Experience or training in process auditing and the ability to interpret and explain internal, industry, and customer specifications.
  • Only US Persons will be considered where access to Controlled Data or Information is required; the role is subject to ITAR requirements.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and use required personal protective equipment.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience as a technician, quality inspector, supervisor, or senior production operator.
  • Associate of Science, BA, or BS degree.
  • Experience with CMM programming and AS13001 certification.
