Senior Catastrophe Modelling Analyst

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work with at least three days per week in the office or onsite with clients

What you will do

• Organize, validate, and load client exposure data into catastrophe models.
• Run catastrophe models and assess natural and man-made catastrophe risk across the Latin America and Caribbean region, with a primary focus on the Caribbean.
• Manage catastrophe modelling projects from inception through completion and support reinsurance transactions with exposure calculations.
• Review complex analyses and datasets to calculate client risk exposure and potential loss outcomes.
• Prepare client-facing summaries, presentations, and reports with recommendations for improving portfolios.
• Build relationships with brokers, clients, reinsurers, and internal analytics colleagues while resolving project questions and challenges.

Requirements

• At least five years of relevant experience.
• Fluent English required; Spanish is an asset but not a requirement.
• Strong data management, analytical, problem-solving, financial, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to interpret complex technical analysis and communicate it clearly to brokers and clients.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft SQL, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal and client relationship skills.

Nice to have

• Experience at a reinsurance broker, insurance market, or catastrophe model software vendor.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in natural sciences or a related discipline.
• Experience in insurance or reinsurance, particularly meteorology or earthquake risk.
• Knowledge of reinsurance industry products and technical expertise with Verisk and RMS catastrophe models.
