Underwriting Assistant, Health

Location: Tampa, Florida, United States; hybrid work in the Tampa office

Salary: $25.00–$29.33 per hour

What you will do

• Review insurance applications and supporting documentation against underwriting guidelines.
• Identify required follow-up tasks and ensure customer documentation is accurate and collected on time.
• Reconcile application data and help resolve documentation or process issues.
• Coordinate with vendors, internal sales teams, underwriters, and other internal stakeholders.
• Provide status updates and additional assistance as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum one year of experience in a similar role.
• Ability to learn new information quickly and apply it in practice.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, analytical reasoning, and judgment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
• Background in business, finance, or economics is preferred.
